Thank you for stopping by. 🖤
I’m someone who appreciates a succinct overview, so below you’ll find my attempt at just that. I also encourage you to check out the About page for a more in-depth (but still succinct) explanation of this project.
📝 Essays (here) | Semi-monthly - Free subscribers
I send two essays per month where I typically celebrate and explore the complicated and bittersweet parts of life. Examples below:
You’ll enjoy these essays if you appreciate a feel-good moment of introspection in your inbox every once and a while.
🪞 Reflections (here) | Weekly - Paid subscribers
Reflections are a weekly prompt I send to paid subscribers every Sunday morning. Each reflection includes a question and subsequent prompts to encourage deeper reflection on the question being asked. You can see a list of previous reflections here. We recently started this thing where subscribers can reply via email with their answer to the week’s question and I then aggregate all the responses (anonymously) in the following week’s reflection—it’s been really fun.
You’ll like Reflections if you appreciate a good prompt and weekly ritual.
📚 Recommendations (here) | Quarterly - Paid subscribers
Recommendations is a quarterly round-up I send to paid subscribers containing book, podcast, video, and experience recommendations that had a positive impact on members of The Pause community.
About a week before the end of each season/quarter, I send an email out to subscribers asking for recommendations on the things they read, listened to, watched, and experienced in the previous three months that had a positive impact on them. A day or so before the changing of seasons, I create the master list of recommended resources and send it out.
You’ll like Recommendations if you enjoy getting new book/podcast/video/experience recommendations, especially around things like social psychology and self-betterment.
That’s about all there is for now. If you have questions on anything, I’m here (lindsey@lindseyliu.com). Otherwise, enjoy poking around, and hope to see you around soon.
