Welcome, friend

I’m glad you’re here.

The Pause is the place I come to do two of my favorite things: introspect and write.

How would you describe The Pause?

I’d describe it as a collection of essays I’ve written in an attempt to connect with my Self.

You know, the grounded and secure Self that tends to get deprioritized and lost in the shuffle of tasks and everyday life. It’s my reminder to look inward and do things—like write—simply because I enjoy doing them.

To get a little existential, I think we’re all experiencing some version of the same emotional complexities of life. We want to be more present. Feel more love. Reconnect with ourselves and the people around us. But, we’re also fighting this sometimes-Sisphyean battle to stay centered while our digital and physical worlds pull us in a million different ways.

I’m sharing these pieces with you as a way to connect my human experience with yours. I hope that by sharing my introspections it’ll connect the deeper parts of me to the deeper parts of you.

Is this a paid thing?

No. Maybe one day that’ll change, but for now I’m writing for the joy of writing’s sake.

How often do you write?

It depends on the season. Sometimes I write and publish one or two essays a month. Sometimes I write and publish an essay every other month. The most important thing to me is to publish things that mean something to me. Approaching writing this way gives me the space and flexibility to oscillate between living the work and writing about it without the pressure of pushing out content just because.

Can I read some examples?

Sure thing. The archive of essays is here. The archive of quarterly recommendations is here.

Where can I sign up?

Appreciate you being here, and hope we get to connect soon.

With love,
